November 7, 2505 Georgia worlds sign a charter, creating the Independent Planets of Georgia, a coalition focused on the defense of their system from Reaver threat. Shadow and Three Hills join at the end of the month. The three UAP worlds (Athens, Aphrodite and Verbena) offer assistance, but do not join for fear of reprisal from the Alliance.
December 25, 2505 Reavers attack four towns on Athens. The Georgia space fleet destroy two Reaver vessels. Athens is grateful. Seeing that their kin are more willing to help than their government in the Core, Athens and its moons are invited to join the Coalition.
February 3, 2506 Athens formally secedes from the UAP.
February 6 – 20, 2506 Alliance embargoes supplies and ships leaving the Core for the outer planets.
February 19, 2506 Invasion of Persephone
The events on Persephone are considered by some to be the first ground battle of the War, while others claim the war did not start until Independent Forces formally engaged the Alliance in combat one month later.
March 19, 2506 The Georgia Coalition assaults Fort Mackie on Aphrodite – a playground for Allied Forces who use the world’s diverse landscape for training purposes. The garrison is secured after a six hour attack. For the moment, Alliance presence in Georgia is effectively eliminated.
March 30, 2506 The Independent Planets of Georgia — now twenty-two worlds strong — change their name to The Coalition of Independent Planets.
June 8, 2506 The Alliance begins an attempt to retake Athens. As a diversion, Alliance assault ships converge on Hera, Capital world for the Independent Forces. The smokescreen lasts for two days, until word of Athens’ surrender reaches Alliance commanders.
September 25, 2506 Independents send an invasion force to retake Athens for the Coalition. The planet is re-occupied and government control returns to Independent Forces for the second time in less than a year.
February, 2507 Alliance General Yu Kwan captures Boros for the UAP.
April, 2507 Underground resistance to the Alliance presence on Boros results in 13,000 Alliance troops killed and wounded. Alliance General-in-Chief Devchenko is pressured to relieve Kwan, but resists.
June, 2507 In hopes of stopping the Independent resistance movements in Georgia, the Alliance re-invades Athens. Throughout the siege, ownership bounces back and forth between the two sides.
July, 2507 Alliance General-in-Chief Devchenko leads a massive fleet to Hera, taking advantage of the second Athens offensive to occupy the Independents. Reaching Hera, he is defeated after a week-long battle by Independent General Rui Li.
Devchenko’s defeat leads to his being relieved of duty.
August, 2507 Jeremiah Hildebrand is promoted to General-in-Chief of Alliance Forces.
December 13, 2507 Hildebrand’s unsuccessful war strategy in Kalidasa lead his his replacement by General Evan Ambrose.
December 25, 2507 General-in-Chief Ambrose bombards Athens with a mix of kinetic and biological charges, resulting in the destruction of the world’s major population centers.
January, 2508 Etienne Mordeau replaces Ambrose as General-in-Chief of Allied Forces.
June, 2508 Etienne Mordeau is replaced by Arthur Pruitt as General-in-Chief of Allied Forces.
July – December, 2508 Alliance and Independent fighting continues throughout the system, resulting in trench warfare in several key locations.
January 7, 2509 After more than half a year of fighting, the battle for Ezra is won by the Alliance.
